Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms
- Our Family Rooms were developed in response to RMH of SNJ's commitment to expand our services to families of seriously ill and injured children throughout the nine southern counties of New Jersey.
- We are a place for parents, siblings and extended family members to rest or relax while still remaining close to their hospitalized child.
- Our goal is to provide an uplifting setting that offers comfort and support to families of children receiving medical treatment in a pediatric unit, PICU, NICU or emergency department.
- Our Family Rooms currently operate with the help of volunteers who staff and oversee each room. Volunteers welcome families and help bring a warm friendly atmosphere to the room. The hours of operation for a room vary based on the individual needs of each hospital.
- Each of our Family Rooms is set up differently, but generally, our rooms consist of a waiting area, kitchenette, a computer station and play area.
- We provide complimentary snacks and beverages to stock the kitchen.
- We purchase and replace furnishings, toys, books, videos or other supplies as the need arises.

Pomona, NJ
The first Family Room associated with the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey opened thanks to generous support from Ronald McDonald House Charities and South Jersey Gas Company. Additional original sponsors include Kitchen & Bath Design, Tony & Connie Lepre and Peggy Birdsall. This room was dedicated in March of 2003 and is welcoming parents in the Nursery and Pediatric unit.
Shore Memorial Hospital

Through the generosity of Ronald McDonald House Charities, our second room, decorated in an under-the-ocean theme, opened in November of 2003 serving the many families from the surrounding shore area.
